Steps 1: Choose your project


Important note: This section is only for action clubs that have already been set up and have completed previous projects. If you are just starting up an action club please click here.


Step 1 - Decide what projects you want to do

Feel free to scroll through our list of projects below and choose something you all would like to do or make a narrow list of projects for further discussion later. Alternatively you and your action club members may want to choose a project to address a particular issue in your community. (See below)

We need to grow these project lists and to do this most effectively we need your help. If your action club serves a worthwhile cause we have not yet listed, please note down the step-by-step instructions you took as well as a description and send it to projects@oneworldonepeople.org. Please also feel free to include photos. We can post your project on this website for other action clubs to take inspiration from and copy. That way your good idea can spread all over the world and make an even bigger difference.


Step 1 continued - Selecting a project to address a particular issue in your community

If you or your fellow members have been affected by a particular issue and feel strongly about it you may want to choose a project that addresses that specific need in you community. The next thing to do would be to focus on a specific area of that problem. For example, child labour is a big problem in many countries. But there are many causes and driving forces behind this. Tackling all these causes at once would be too much and it would likely lead to failure as the causes may not receive all the individual attention they need. To be really effective and bring success your project would need to sharpen its focus on one particular cause at a time. For example, instead of child labour you could focus on children having to work long hours in your community and missing out on education.
