7 to 8: Reviewing the project to learn more from it
Step
7 - Reviewing and learning
Once the project is completed it is a good idea to review how it went
to make sure it's finished and nothing else needs to be done. You can
then judge how successful the action was and what lessons can be learnt
from it.
Here is an excellent link
to questions
you can ask to identify any problems or shortcomings with the project
so you can be aware of them to help with your action club's next project.
Remember, obviously results are important but it's the learning process
on the way to those results that really matters. No one is perfect
and no one knows everything and can expect everything to go perfectly
every time. But you can always learn your way to great results if
you all stick together, keep at it and don't give up. |

'
Good works are links that form a chain of love.'
'It is not the magnitude of our actions but the amount of love that is
put into them that matters.'
'Do not think that love, in order to be genuine, has to be extraordinary.
What we need is to love without getting tired.'
'I have found the paradox, that if you love until it hurts, there can
be no more hurt, only more love.'
— Mother Teresa
'Whatever you do may seem insignificant to you, but it is most important
that you do it.'
— Mahatma Gandhi
Reviewing for children's action clubs
For action clubs with children it is worthwhile for members to reflect
on what they have done to really bring it home to them what they have
achieved and learnt. Action clubs with children can create photo collages
of the project, a scrapbook, drawings and paintings, a poem or article
for the local paper, videos and much more to help the project sink in.
Sometimes it’s just good to have a group discussion. Our Basic
project worksheet for simple projects and children's projects
has some questions to encourage a discussion.
Step
8 - Choose your next project and start again
You can either look around your own community and see
for yourself what needs to be done or you can go through our project
list until you find something that appeals to your action club members
that would benefit your community. |
|
If you see a need in your community
then check if it is already listed in our projects area to get basic information
on it. If it isn't listed go for it but try to keep a journal of everything
you do. That way you can email us all the details and we can put it on
the net so other action clubs can do the project in their communities.
Your new project idea can then do even more good.
To begin just start at Step 1
and have fun!
