Fundraising Ideas


Here are some basic fundraising ideas:

Doing odd jobs for cash like dog washing, dog walking, baby sitting etc

Get a group of you together to do house and garden jobs as a team to fundraise. For example, cleaning, clearing gutters, pruning gardens, mowing lawns, painting buildings and fences etc. People contribute what it would normally cost to get it done by professionals

Sell any possessions you don't need anymore. You could also encourage family, friends and other people in your community to do the same. You could sell things through a garage sale

Starting a small nursery to grow plants and trees to sell

Hold a car wash. You could work with a local garage or supermarket or any other place where cars park and charge a fee for washing each car

Make biodiesel from waste vegetable oil which can be collected from local restaurants etc. Making biodiesel is fairly simple to make at home. You could also sell the biodiesel to fundraise for your other projects. (Here is a cool link for making a mini-processor)

Hold an entertainment event such as a concert, play, dance, party etc. and charge a small entrance fee to raise money

In some places local authorities will pay you for particular items you collect that can be recycled or reused. Aluminum cans, bottles are some examples

Sell arts and crafts the members have created or made themselves. For example paintings, sculptures, necklaces, bracelets, earrings, rings etc.

Hold a collection for small change that many people collect over time but never use. Another idea would be to work with local shops which might allow you to place a spare change collection jar on their counter to raise funds for your cause.

	Cook some food and put on a fundraising dinner. It could just consist of a simple outdoors barbeque
	Team up with a local restaurant to put on a special fundraising dinner. You would be responsible for promoting it and attracting customers. In return the restaurant would share a prearranged percentage of the profits with you. This also gives the restaurant the chance to attract new customers

Fundraising through selling food, arts and crafts etc. that the members helped to make themselves and sell themselves through a stall etc. at schools, shopping centres and other places that attract lots of people

Hold a raffle or prize draw. You could get local businesses to donate the prizes or sell them to you at cost price
